About Us: As the Fur Flies is a premier pet grooming salon dedicated to providing Fear Free grooming services for dogs, cats, and other pets. We pride ourselves on our friendly, professional environment and our commitment to the well-being and happiness of every pet we care for. We are seeking a motivated and personable Receptionist to join our team and contribute to the exceptional service we offer our clients and their furry friends.

Please note: We have 2 locations; this position is for our south Austin location.

Job Summary: As a Dog Bather and Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our clients. Your primary responsibilities will include washing, drying, and brushing dogs, trimming dog nails and cleaning their ears, greeting clients, managing appointment schedules, handling phone calls and inquiries, cleaning, and ensuring a smooth and pleasant experience for both pets and their owners. Your role is crucial in maintaining the organization and efficiency of the salon, while providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

- Bathe, dry, and brush dogs according to company standards

- Communicate with clients in a professional manner

- Assist in keeping the building clean and sanitary

- Greet clients and their pets with a warm and friendly attitude.

- Answer phone calls, emails, and other inquiries promptly and professionally.

- Schedule grooming appointments and manage the salon calendar.

- Maintain accurate records of client information and pet grooming services.

- Process payments and handle cash, credit card transactions, and billing.

- Address client questions, concerns, and complaints with professionalism and empathy.

- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized reception area and salon.

- Communicate effectively with groomers and other staff to ensure a seamless service experience.

- Promote salon services, products, and special offers to clients.

- Ensure compliance with all salon policies and procedures.

Requirements:

- Previous experience in a customer service or receptionist role, preferably in a pet-related field.

- Passion for animals and a strong desire to work in a pet-friendly environment.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced work environment.

- Proficiency with computer systems and scheduling software.

- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.

- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Previous experience working in a pet service business or veterinary office.

- Knowledge of pet breeds and grooming terminology.

- Basic knowledge of pet health and care.
