Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and possess the skills necessary to provide high-quality grooming services to a variety of pets. This role involves not only grooming but also ensuring the overall well-being of the animals in our care. The Pet Groomer will work closely with pet owners to understand their grooming needs and provide exceptional service.
Must be able to pass a background and drug test.
Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, and styling for various breeds of dogs and cats.
- Conduct health checks on pets during grooming sessions, identifying any potential issues that may require veterinary attention.
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized after each use.
- Handle pets safely and effectively, using proper animal restraint techniques when necessary.
- Communicate with pet owners regarding their pets’ grooming needs, preferences, and any observed health concerns.
- Provide additional services such as nail trimming, ear cleaning, and teeth brushing as requested by pet owners.
- Assist in the care of animals in the kennel or boarding area, ensuring they are comfortable and well-cared for during their stay.
- Keep accurate records of each pet’s grooming history and preferences for future reference.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in pet grooming or a related field is required;
- Strong animal handling skills with experience in animal care, including knowledge of various breeds and their specific grooming needs.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed when handling larger pets or equipment.
- Familiarity with animal restraint techniques to ensure safety during grooming sessions.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and understand their requests.
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Experience in related fields such as kennel work, veterinary assistance, equine care, or dog training is a plus.

Pay: $21.25 - $22.52 per hour
