Run Dog Run is located in Kingston (near the Kingston ferry terminal) and provides a variety of dog care for our dog clients and their owners throughout Kitsap County.

We have a unique opportunity available for someone who wants to build a career as a dog groomer. If you are passionate about dogs, have a creative side, are detail oriented and want to learn to groom, we will help you achieve your grooming certification. Through a combination of virtual study and on the job training, you will learn how to perform all dog grooming services including brushing, bathing, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, nail trimming, hair cuts, color, etc. all while ensuring the safety of each dog client throughout the process. We use top of the line equipment and grooming products and maintain a clean, safe working environment at all times.

The ideal candidate is reliable, hard working and has experience working with dogs. You will be assisting as a part time daycare/ boarding specialist while studying and completing your grooming certification. Once certified, you will be a full time Dog Groomer with Run Dog Run, which comes with increased pay and production bonus opportunities. Certifications can take 4-6 months depending on the individual.

Responsibilities

Complete virtual study and on the job internship for grooming certification.
Help with brushing and bathing when needed.
Conduct customer check-in and check-out procedures accurately and thoroughly.
Maintain a clean working/grooming environment.
Assist with other responsibilities within the daycare and boarding facility part time while learning to groom.

Skills

1+ years of experience working with dogs, preferably performing basic tasks such as bathing, nail clipping, ear cleaning, etc.
You must be comfortable with all sizes, breeds and ages of dogs, including being able to step in and manage both positive and challenging dog interactions.
Experience working with customers and solving for customer concerns.
This is a physically active role. You must be able to stand for multiple hours per day and lift up to 50lbs.
High school diploma or equivalent education required.
