Wag N' Wash Natural Pet Food & Grooming Highlands Ranch, CO is a family-owned small business with a fantastic team. We have just built a new grooming salon at our location! Our roomy, light and airy space gives you the perfect environment to practice your craft with other supportive, experienced professionals.
What You Need to Join the Pack
- A minimum of 3 years experience (5 years preferred) grooming and bathing all breeds of dogs of different sizes and temperaments according to client preferences and breed standards
- Must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays at a minimum.
- Exemplary work ethic with a positive, self-motivated mindset
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently, as well as the ability to collaborate with other team members when necessary.
- Outgoing and friendly demeanor with the desire and passion to help pet parents and our furry customers
- Passion for Wag N' Wash and our mission to love ‘em, wash ‘em, feed ‘em, and spoil ‘em!
- Animal restraint: Ability to safely handle and restrain animals during grooming procedures
- Understanding of general pet care practices, including feeding, exercise, and hygiene
- Customer service: Strong interpersonal skills to provide excellent customer service and address client concerns or requests
- Dog handling: Proficiency in safely handling dogs of various sizes and temperaments during grooming sessions
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A passion for driving the business and building long-term neighbor/pet relationships
- Ability to stand and bend for an extended period of time.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to ask probing questions to ensure clarity around pet needs and neighbor preferences.
- Ability to move/lift animals and merchandise over 50 pounds.
Besides making pets look fabulous, our Groomers are also comforters, great listeners and problem solvers. They’re like-minded pet lovers whose passion is obvious in their work.
Responsibilities:
- Professionally groom all breeds of dogs of different sizes and temperaments according to client preferences and breed standards
- Ensure the safety and well-being of pets during the grooming process
- Provide nail trims, dental care and ear cleaning
- Assess and address any skin or coat issues, such as matting or fleas
- Ensure that all pets in your care receive a groom that is of professional quality that meets or exceeds the client’s request without ever compromising the physical and emotional health of the pet
- Obtain client information and rabies documentation and enter it into our data base
- Communicate with the manager/owner any issues or concerns (e.g. injuries, colds, etc.)
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, clean and maintain equipment and instruments and clean and sanitize grooming salon
- Coordinate with the Front of House Staff
- Document client notes
- Approach and greet pet parents, providing quick and courteous service by learning about pets, neighbor preferences, and determining their needs.
- Drive neighbor satisfaction by developing long-term relationships with pet parents, sharing product knowledge, and suggesting products and services needed for happy and healthy pets.
- Suggest customized, additional services over the basic self-wash or groom.
Ideal candidates are excited about our pets and neighbors and go the extra mile to ensure they are delighted when leaving our shop. In conjunction with the team, you will be responsible for providing neighborly, trustworthy, and knowledgeable service.
