ROLE SUMMARY: THE PRIMARY ROLE OF A DOG BATHER - DRYER AT THE MO’TAIL & SPAW IS WORKING WITH DOGS ALL DAY EVERY DAY. YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL ASPECTS OF THE BATHING & DRYING PROCESS AND AS YOU GAIN EXPERIENCE, LIGHT GROOMING ACTIVITIES.
DOGS ARE OUR CUSTOMERS JUST AS MUCH AS THEIR OWNERS. IT WILL BE VITAL THAT YOU COME TO WORK EVERY DAY WITH THE RIGHT MINDSET, A LOT OF PATIENCE AND A GOOD WORK ETHIC. THEIR SAFETY AND EXPERIENCE AT PAWS & PINTS IS IN YOUR HANDS.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS:
- SHUFFLE DOGS AROUND: TO AND FROM GROOMING AREAS AND
- BETWEEN YOU AND THE GROOMER AS NECESSARY.
- ASSIST IN THE DAILY OPENING AND CLOSING OF THE FACILITY; FOLLOW INTERNAL CHECKLISTS.
- ALL ASPECTS OF BATHING AND DRYING DOGS ALONG WITH LIGHT GROOMING ACTIVITIES.
- MONITOR DOGS DURING BATH OR DRY PROCESS: KEEP THEM SAFE AT ALL TIMES. MUZZLE DOGS WHEN NECESSARY, KEEP THEM FROM INJURING THEMSELVES, ANOTHER DOG OR HUMAN AT ALL TIMES.
- KEEP CARE OF DOGS THAT ARE BEING HELD IN BETWEEN GROOMING AND BATHING APPOINTMENTS.
- HELP WITH DOG SAFETY AT MO’TAIL & SPAW. FILE INCIDENT REPORTS IF THEY OCCUR.
- HELP KEEP A STEADY FLOW OF TRAFFIC. CHECK-IN, HIGH TRAFFIC AREAS, ETC.
- KEEP GROOMING AND BATHING CENTER CLEAN AT ALL TIMES. KEEP EQUIPMENTS AND TOOLS CLEAN, TAKE PROPER CARE OF ALL EQUIP. USED TO COMPLETE THEIR JOBS.
- CONDUCT AND ASSIST WITH INVENTORY NEEDS. ASSIST WITH INVENTORY AND SUPPLY ORDERS AND DELIVERIES.
- MAKE SURE SUPPLIES AND TOOLS ARE WELL STOCKED AND WHERE THEY NEED TO BE.
- DO YOUR PART WITH KEEPING THE FACILITY COMPLIANT WITH ALL REGULATIONS.
- ENGAGE AND BE POLITE AND RESPECTFUL TO ALL CUSTOMERS. LISTEN AND SPEAK CLEARLY.
- HELP WITH PRIVATE EVENTS AND EXPOS.
- ASSIST WITH LAUNDRY NEEDS IN RELATION TO MO’TAIL & SPAW.
- HELP KEEP RULES IN AREAS THAT ARE MARKED DOG FREE, LEASHED AND UNLEASHED ENFORCED.
- ASSIST AND HANDLE CANINE-RELATED EMERGENCY AND FIRST-AID SITUATIONS.
- HAVE ATTENTION TO DETAIL WHEN LISTENING TO A DOG AND DOG OWNER’S NEEDS. COMMUNICATE CLEARLY AND WHEN IN DOUBT, ASK FOR CLARIFICATION.
- ALWAYS DO WHAT’S BEST FOR THE DOG AND THE DOG’S WELL-BEING.
- UPDATE CUSTOMER RECORDS: INCIDENT REPORTING, IMPORTANT NOTES RELATING TO DOG AND DOG OWNER, DOG PREFERENCES, ANYTHING THAT WILL ASSIST WITH A FUTURE VISIT.
- LISTEN TO CUSTOMER’S NEEDS, HANDLE ISSUES WITH RESPECT, GET A MANAGER INVOLVED IF NECESSARY.
- GET TO KNOW THE FACILITY: HAVE AN IDEA WHERE THINGS ARE AND WHERE THINGS GO, DON’T BE AFRAID TO ASK YOUR MANAGER WHEN YOU DON’T KNOW.
- TRY NOT TO BE WASTEFUL WITH PRODUCTS AND SUPPLIES.
- GET TO KNOW YOUR REGULAR PATRONS (HUMAN AND DOG), LEARN THEIR NAMES, KNOW THE BREEDS, ENGAGE WITH THE CUSTOMERS.
- FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS, ASSIST GROOMERS WHEN NECESSARY.
- BE ATTENTIVE TO ANYTHING YOUR SHIFT MAY NEED TO RUN BETTER AND IMPROVE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE.
- LOVE AND TREAT ALL DOGS AS IF THEY WERE YOUR OWN. NEVER HARM OR INJURE A DOG.

REQUIREMENTS:
- MUST LOVE AND BE COMFORTABLE WITH ALL DOGS; ALL BREEDS, SIZES, PERSONALITIES, ETC.
- PRIOR DOG, DOG HANDLING AND CANINE FACILITY EXPERIENCE PREFERRED.
- ABLE TO WORK ON YOUR FEET FOR AN ENTIRE SHIFT
- ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE CLEARLY WITH OTHERS
- ACCOUNTABILITY & A GOOD WORK ETHIC
